Change of Plans
Well retirement will be put on hold for a while. The company has asked me to stay on. I told them I would be interested but I didn’t want to come in to work everyday. I asked if I could work from home and only come in as needed. To my surprise they agreed and said we could try it out.
So my first day of retirement looks like it will be going into work. We have a problem with some software updates that were installed a couple of weeks ago. It shouldn’t take long and I may be able to get out of there in a few hours or so.
To be honest it feels good to know I will still be able to contribute and have a bit to do during the day. I have a remodel job at the house well actually several that will take a few months to do. The biggest of which is getting my wife to pick out some flooring. I also have a few sheet rock jobs to do around the house. I may post some pictures of the jobs and a run down of the work in progress.

Jo and I were walking this afternoon. 2.89 miles and its about 72 degrees. It took about 1 hour.

Christmas Is Almost Here
Walked 1.7 miles this afternoon. Its about 66 degrees and clear blue sky’s. Stopped and talked to Shirley Crosby while walking. Back to working on the new router for the network.
Thanksgiving Is Almost Here
Thanksgiving is a few days away and I was wondering how many Americans sit back and think about just how many thing there are to be thankful for. I am thankful for my life my family my health such as it is. Americans are blessed with the greatest opportunity in the world. No other country comes close to us. I am greatful to be an Amerian and given the life I have here.
I am off all week and enjoying it.
Tech in Your Life
How has technology changed your life? Well that really depends on how old you are. For someone that has grown up in the last twenty years its not so much. But for someone older that can remember a time before cell phones quit a bit.
My father was born in 1935 and he past in 2017. He didn’t have a email account or a computer even. There was one in the house but he couldn’t even turn it on and log in. I was born in 1957 and my first computer I bought was in 1995. I have slowly worked my way up to IT manager for my company and have seen the advancement and rolls the technology has had in the world. Well my world which is pretty limited compared to the rest of the world.

My old S5 samsung phone is slowly giving up the ghost. I am ordering a refurbished s10 5g to replace it. I don’t have 5g service yet but why not get a 5g phone as the service should be here in the next year or so. As I have to get a phone might as well get one that has the new service. Verizon has said that I can keep my current plan and not go to the unlimited plan until I have the service in my area. I should have the phone on Monday.
