Do You Worry About The Coronavirus?

Sixty Two and still working everyday I wonder just how susceptible I am to getting the virus. I work from home a lot but find myself going into work two, three and sometimes four times a week. I have stopped for gas, to pick up lunch for the family and at times a trip to Wal-Mart. There are not that many cases in our county. But there are some. I am for the most part pretty healthy and my wife and I walk often.

I am more worried about the economy than picking up the virus. I feel that at some point we are all going to get it anyway. Yeah there are a lot of boomers out there that would be hit pretty hard but there are also a lot of others that have problems that would make it hard on them. The problem is though that its already out there and there is no putting the genie back in that bottle.

Our only hope to keep the death rate down is how soon can they come up with a cure? A vaccine would help but as with the flu, its a toss up as to whether it will be effective or not. Some are saying that if you have had it you would be immune to getting it again. Then there are those that have come down with it a second time. There is so much about it that we are still finding out.

The one thing we do know is that we can’t keep paying people to stay home.

How the Virus Affects Me

We first became aware of the Caronavirus around the end of January. It was something that was going on in China and we didn’t pay it to much attention. Not soon after the first reports we started hearing that doctors in China were posting that it was serious and spreading. President Trump suddenly put a travel ban on people coming from China.

People started taking a little more notice at that time. But still a lot of people didn’t. Even a lot of Governors and mayors told people not to worry about it to much. But now at the first of April most of the country is stay at home. Don’t go out unless you need to.

There was the run on the grocery stores and soon they had empty shelves. This lasted for about three weeks. But now it seems to be slowing down and when the people saw that the trucks were going to keep running they have stopped hoarding so much.

2020 Vacation

We went to Red River New Mexico for a few days of skiing. My wife and son love to ski but for me not so much. It seems we try to make the trip somewhere to ski almost every spring break. I mostly staying at the cabin and worked. I can remote in and work almost from anywhere.

VOTE 2020!

[ycd_countdown id=90]

They seem to say that we need to vote this election because its going to be the most important vote in history. They have said it so much it’s old. It makes me tune it out. Is it important? Sure it is but just quit saying it is. Instead explain that the vote coming up is going to change how Americans are going to be treated by the people we elect. Explain how Socialism really works and not what it is taught in schools and colleges. Tell the people how America has made a difference in the world.

Will the next election mean much? Sure, but ask yourself this. Which party is better for you. Which party is better for your future and the future of you kids and grand kids. Will your decedents look back and say parents, grand parents, great great grand parents were just thinking of themselves or will they say my parents made sure we had a future.

The House Impeachment of President Trump

I have listen to some of the three days, the House Managers have argued in the Senate for the impeachment of the President. Its mostly what they have said before but taking three days to say it over and over again. It seems like they feel they have the authority to tell the Senate that they need to finish doing their job for them. As in collecting information to use against the President. It also seems that the House Managers also want the senate to vote on what they deem necessary for their needs and what they believe to be true.

So far there have been ten amendments to the senate rules and all were tabled along party line votes. The amendments were to bring people and documents to the hearing to present evidence. This was suppose to be done in the House! But they rush to articles through and passed them also along party line votes to impeach. To do this without gathering the required evidence seems a bit short sighted and inept. And to do this while trying to impeach the President of the United States seems doomed to failure. But they pushed it through and passed it. Now they want the Senate to do their job for them. To what end? They know there is no proof for the generic terms of impeachment they passed. So maybe they are thinking that something may turn up in the new inquiry. Maybe they are just trying to tie up the President to keep him from doing anything else to make them look bad. To be honest who knows what they are thinking. I have heard rumors that they want to make the Republicans look bad to take more seats in the Senate. From where I sit, it may end up making the Democrats loose seats in the House. You can’t look this stupid and expect no one to notice.

62 And Still Working

I was going to retire at 62 but then things changed. In November the owners of the company asked me to step into their office. They asked me to stay on as the IT Manager. I told them I would be willing to do that but I was tired of coming in every day and I would only be interested in continuing if I could work from home for the most part. I would come in only when needed or called on. So far I have had to go in most days with only a few days that I have been able to work from home. But I feel that will transition to more days at home as things settle down.

The Wall

Three people were stuck on top of the new border wall around midnight on Sunday in San Diego.

Paragraph

A 36 year old male and two females 20 and 18 got cought. My first thought was human smuggling. You can tell how tall the wall is and they had to rescue these three people from the top. People here in the US that say walls don’t work, I would say you don’t know what your talking about.
