I’ll be looking at retirement next year and I am not sure I’m ready. I’ve spent most of my life doing manual labor in the maintenance field. It takes a beating on your body let me tell you. My knees are bad my shoulder is starting to ache and things are starting to slow down. But I just don’t know if I want to stop working.
Honestly I never thought I would get this far in life. I guess most people don’t think about it but I have had many milestones that I have passed. Thirty being the biggest one. Now that I am sixty one I am amazed I am thinking of what am I going to do if I retire.
I know I could conceivable live another thirty years. But lets face it there is just not that many home repairs to keep me that busy. I have many interests but they take money.
Our weekend exercise on Sunday morning. We made about 2.5 miles.
2.59 miles walking with the wife today. Its Friday and its a beautiful day out. Get out and enjoy it.
Another 2 mile walk this morning. A beautiful morning walk with my wife. Working on the fence around my garden this afternoon.
I had 3.8 miles yesterday walking. Its a beautiful day today so going to go walking again here in a bit. Get out and enjoy the day.
Today I walked 2.9 miles with my wife and my son rode his bike with us.
A storm moved through last night and gave us .48 inches of rain. A cool 53 degrees this morning and my wife and I walked 2.63 miles in our sub division. To wet to do much outside but plenty to do inside if I can get off the couch.
Had a day of vacation and had some chores to do around the house today. Trimmed some bushes around the house shoveled some dirt and wheel-barreled it to the retaining wall. Cleaned in the house a bit. I notice I have to take a lot more breaks now than I use to. I get winded easier and it takes longer to recover. I guess its to be expected but doesn’t mean I like it any better. I have to take my son to the football game today and that will pretty much wind up my day. Its been a great day.
The wife and I walked 2.56 miles this morning. It was nice and cool but I had to run into work afterwards to fix a problem with the server. Got home and wheel-barreled two loads of dirt. This evening I am playing a game of horse with my son and maybe a few more loads of dirt.
Its going to be a beautiful day, the sun is out and its just cool enough to get some yard work done. I need to trim some trees and cut some firewood this weekend.
Wanted to retire early so I bought some lottery tickets. I bought 5 mega millions and didn’t hit even one number! NOT ONE! Well tonight will be different I bought 5 power ball tickets. I still have a chance.
Lots of rain this week over 6 inches so far. Had to rebuild my servers this weekend. Trying to get a reverse proxy set up and ended up taking both down. But I like working and learning new stuff so since it was raining I had plenty of time to work on it.
Walked both Saturday and Sunday with Jo and walked about 5.5 miles for both days.
